Just last week....

Marcus and I decided that we would combine snack time with learning time last Wednesday. I raided the $1 Target bins and found a few workbooks for Marcus to do. We found Coloring with Elmo and he loved it. He started drawing lines from one item to another (matching). We have never done this before, so it was a great learning experience. He was also able to recognize the colors in the workbook and know what color to use on that specific page. I love the scribble that he tells me is his name.
You might notice that Marcus is not wearing any shorts/pants.... he is learning how to use the potty more frequently! In fact, I think he has really gotten the hang of it. He lets us know when he has to go and has even gone in some of the public bathrooms which if you are familiar with potty training a child, that's a great feat! He's also had fun picking out big-boy underwear. Anything from Mickey Mouse to Cars to Handy Manny. (I think we've covered most of the Disney Characters now!) We are keeping our fingers crossed....


Kalli had a playdate on Friday with Liam Lagro. He and his mommy were down from Flagstaff so they came over to play and eat some lunch. Liam is a real cutie. Kalli enjoyed bringing him toys to play with. She really enjoyed interacting with someone her age for a change. We hope that we can get together again next week for some fun at a park. (Liam is only a week younger than Kalli, even though he was due before her!)




And then later that night, we had movie night. Madagascar 2 just came out and it was the perfect movie for our first movie night. Marcus loved the movie especially the popcorn part. Kalli was not really into the movie (go figure) so she was in bed before the end.
Randy has been trucking along with Real Estate school, so he was happy to unwind with "both his kids." We hope to do this more often. Like I said, it's a great way for us to wind down and spend some time together after a long week.
